Question Got Warranty Replaced Phone and now I get strange sms msgs

I just received a warranty replacement for my Bold 9000. As soon as I put my battery in I started receiving text messages from a 4 digit number that has meaningless info in the text.

Can anyone tell me why I am getting them (Is it because this is someone elses old phone and I am getting their msgs?) and how I can stop them? I have gotten over 10 since last night.

Can AT&T change the PIN remotely?

I'd appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks in advance!!

Might be some company trying to make you call that number to make some money.

I had that same problem as well. I google searched and searched here as well and tried a variety of solutions. Nothing worked. I eventually called customer service and they put some kind of block on my line and I stopped getting those texts. They were from a number 3020, and said something about OZMAIL. I'm not sure if that's the problem you were having, but I hope this can help!

Thanks for your response. I should have posted back that I figured out what they were - yes they were from the number 3020 - I was without my precious BB for a week and had to use my Motorola and I added my email accounts to the phone so I could continue to get them. What I did to stop it was put my sim card back in motorola and deleted the email accounts from there. When I put my sim card back in BB I never received the texts again.

its an issue with xpress mail. had the same thing happened when I switched from my nokia e71x. First thing you should do is reply to it with the word stop.

Then you need to call in att and have them remove the xpress mail feature from your account.

I would possibly even be able to do it for you myself, I work for an authorized att retailer (same thing as att but no iphone, basically, lol), but I dont know what the rules are for things like that in this forum, and Im not itching to break them either, lol.
