College student discount?

Hi, I have a Blackberry Bold 9000 and the 2 year contract expires in late November, however I am on a family plan with my parents. I just found out a while ago that if you provide a college e-mail you can get a discount from it. Seeing as how I'm a first year undergrad, is there a way I can apply said discount to the current plan? Or do I have to wait for my contract to be over? (My mom started her plan in July, and she added me in November if that's significant) Any help would be grateful. Thanks so much in advance!

U don't need to wait till ur contract is up. U can get the discount with ur college email. Discount % depends on the school.

You may be able to get them to apply it to their account, but technically you are supposed to be the main account holder in order to apply your discount.

You have to be the account holder, account in your name, to add the discount technically. AT&T has been getting a lot "tougher" on this policy as of late.

U can try applying it but like totalimmortal said, may not work. Only other option is to do a Transfer of Service into ur name and then u can add it with no problem

I found out that my school is eligible for a FAN discount. I am the primary account holder with one other line on a family plan. If I opt for the FAN discount, do I have to extend my contract? The other line is already out of contract, and my contract is over in 1 year. I do not wish to extend my contract, since I am not sure that I want to stay with AT&T after next year.

No, adding the fan only gives u the discount, doesn't change anything on ur acct.

POTUS, maybe your parents have a discount through their company. Have you tried? I would try that route first as the employer discounts as usually more than school discounts.
