Default bold on AT&T

I am looking at moving to AT&T and purchasing a bold. I visited the site, and looked at the plans. I am 65 so probably just get the senior 200 minutes plan, plus data plan. No where on the site did I see a plan that included txt. The only thing I saw was pay as you go for txt. Is there no plan for including txt with the calling plan?
Thanks

Messaging is pretty much pay per message, or unlimited. Someone thought it was a good idea to get rid of the 200, 1000, and 1500 message features.

I recommend waiting a few days, because the Torch 9860 is coming out. Unless you have no finger and eye troubles. Then Bold ahoy. Just be aware that people have been complaining about the phone going into a reboot loop if the battery is allowed to die. I haven't heard of many cases of the issue, though.

Yes, I have heard of the issue with the bold, I am hoping that gets resolved soon. I have a Tour now and love the keyboard, so want to keep that feature.
Thanks for the response, I was hopeing that there was some other option for txting.

Alas, no. Perhaps a petition to AT&T would bring about their return. I personally find it ridiculous to have to choose between NOTHING or INFINITY. Like the Eddie Izzard bit, CAKE or DEATH.

It's not like SMS messages take up any real network bandwidth.

The bold 9900 is $200 with a new two year commitment on AT&T. We have the senior 200 plan but unfortunately texting is separate. We only offer unlimited texts currently but bundled with the unlimited texting is free calling to any cell phone on any network which is mobile to any mobile (M2AM). To Mister Xiado, the reason why they got rid of the texting was the fact that almost our entire market utilized over 1500 messages a month. The people who had the older texting plans are grandfathered into them if they wish to keep them. AT&T is also trying to build value on the fact that we offer unlimited M2AM with the unlimited texting plan. Don't forget about the data plan that is required with the Bold however!

I called AT&T about decreasing my 750 minute family plan to the 500 (or 550?) because with M2AM with our unlimited texting, we weren't really using any minutes. I was told that you only qualify with M2AM with unlimited texting AND at least a 750 minute family plan. If we decreased to 550, we would not qualify for the M2AM. So we kept the 750 minute plan.

Correct. You need at least the 700 minute ($60) rate plan. The 550 minute rate plan will be discontinued at the beginning of next year.
