Had a Z10 for the past couple of years.

Dropped it awkwardly and messed it up, so I did an upgrade to Z30.

I had dropped the Z10 a number of times, in and out of a case with no problems. It was in a case - for the last drop, so must have hit at a vulnerable angle.

Has anyone got experience with how durable Z30 is?

What case would you recommend, that does the job with too much weight and bulk?

    Thanks

I can't speak to "how durable it is", as I have not crossed that threshold yet.......Hopefully never, but there are a few options out there. Amazon is the best place to look at and choose:

I have the BB branded slip case, the holster/shell combo, and the Wallet cover case, used depending on where I plan to be, out to dinner, worksite, or on the couch.

You posted in a general area while there's a dedicated forum for the Z30; if you peek in there you'll find several posts regarding cases, etc. I can say the screen seems a little less protected on a Z30 vs. Z10 since the Z10 has slightly raised edges on the sides, while Z30 does not.

Since my g/f broke the screen on her Z30 while using the BlackBerry leather flip case (no edge protection on 3 sides), I replaced the screen (ridiculously easy) and installed a Fosmon durafrost clear case. Seems to be holding up much better, and adds very little bulk to the phone. Plus, clear case looks cool on her white phone.

Mine fell 6ft onto the concrete floor. The impact was in the corner and it damaged the screen in that area the most, with one river running across the middle under the screen. Everything works really good still, I haven't noticed an area of the screen not working. It's been two months ago now. No case then, still not now. It's a real sturdy device. I've dropped it a few times on a wooden floor and it didn't damage.

By the way, the Z10 is less prone to damaging the screen when it drops because the bezel is slightly elevated. I've dropped that phone so many times and it never got damaged.

You can see right at the corner of the silver lower bar where it got dinged, too. No more flip case!

Yes the same thing happened to me lost 2 z10 from falling like 2 feet from the ground due to the fact the edge is glass. My 3rd on I got a full hard case cover and it prevented that. So after that was stolen exactly a year when my 1st z10 was broken I upgraded to the z30 and within days I got a full hardshell case. One I was running and it fell and slide the case open but it prevented any damage to my phone needless to say my heart sank. In the event though if it did fall a crack its not a lcd screen like z10 so even with s crack it eill still work proprrly. And also I have device protection on my phone regardless.

Yes, she was able to continue using the Z30 while broken, but it was a little sketchy since the glass was broken right where you would swipe "up" - I ordered a replacement screen right away.
