    Had trouble with synch and then bb did not recognize password, requested new password and rest through computer. bb did not recognize password - reloaded and now all wiped.

    can I recover photos?

    Only if you had "synced" or backed them up with LINK or an online photo backup cloud like DropBox or OneDrive.

    A "wipe" is a security "wipe" that I imagine it would be difficult for even the NSA to recover your files.
