So I just got Misfit Shine. The app "Shine" needs Android 4.3+ so I installed 10.3 on my z10. When I turn on bluetooth it shows Shine, however I can't sync it, though I think it shouldn't even work this way.

So in the app, with the bluetooth turned on I click on the "link with shine" with the device on the phone and it results with an error. "Can't sync" or something.

I've read that people use Fitbits with their BB so I hope this can also work, anyone has any experience with this and knows a way how to fix it?

    Thank you

From my experience with my Pebble and trying to use their Android Pebble app, you aren't able to get proper Bluetooth permissions for android apps on 10.3 in the old leaks!

This is an issue I'm assuming they will fix for 10.3's official release, but for now I was forced to go back and downgrade to 10.2.1! I'd assume you've got many other alternatives than just that app, and in fact, I've seen a number of apps that 'require' 4.3 work on my Z10 which is still running the 10.2.1 android that supposedly is only 4.2. . .

Did you give it a shot already on 10.2.1?

Maybe a different app is what you're looking for?

Just bought a Misfit Shine after thinking it'd work with 10.3.0.1052 on my Z30. No dice thus far. I'd hate to return the Shine but it's essentially useless to me at this point. Hope somebody out there knows of a fix?

Got my Misfit Flash few days ago and still no dice getting it synchronising with Z30 on 10.3.1.632... looks like BT Issue - Shine requires BT 4.1 on Android 4.3 (JB).. z30 is BT 4.0..or maybe I have no idea what the issue is...

However, when syncronised with other device (Android or iDevice) results are showing on BlackBerry, as account is refreshed for all devices linked to the user... so I will survive!

Has anyone tried it with the latest 10.3.1 leak? I got the Misfit Shine as a present for someone, and if it doesn't work on BB, I'll have to return it :-(

Run to the shops... 10.3.1.1154, ; z10, z30, Q10 or Passport will not synchronise with Misfit Flash... I am guessing both Shine and Flash will use the same electronics (especially BT), so no luck getting it to sync :-(

    Greatly appreciate your quick reply.

I tried the Garmin Vivasmart on my Q10SQN100-1/10.3.1.1154 however I ran into a number of issue with it, so I returned it and got the Misfit Shine, however I didn't get a chance to try it, so it sounds like I'll have to hold off on giving this gift until BB becomes compatible with these devices :-(

On iPhone 4S and iPad 3 (OS8.0) run Bluetooth 4.0 and Z30 or Passport also use Bluetooth 4.0 but BlackBerry device cannot connect to Flash/Shine although In list BlueTooth of my Passport still connect to Flash successful but it cannot sync.
I think the root cause come from Flash/Shine because they have not supported Blackberry

That is precisely the reason, not new to any of us. The popular thought is that as the Android Player improves, hopefully us BB10 users will find that the app properly recognizes our devices (as if we're running Android) and allows for syncing.
