Word substitution for log ins?

I cant get word substitution to work when logging into any website/app etc? Only works in notes etc.

Word sub won't work for security reasons. Use Password Keeper, LastPass, or Dashlane. Other password vaults like Enpass can hold your passwords but don't provide a key fill option like LastPass and Dashlane (and others).

Looks like lastpass wants to add passwords in automatically, by putting new ones in itself? Is this a good thing to do over entering in manually ones remembered password?

You can do either with LastPass. On a field it hasn't seen or it doesn't have an entry for, it should offer you the option to create or add a login.
