I've posted before about my inability to use snap or amazon app store and thus not be able to run any android apps. This goes back a few months to when I smashed my z30 and had to replace it.

People here made several suggestions, which I tried, but none worked. Last attempt was a side load via Sachesi of a new IS, but while the new OS is great, Android apps still won't run.

Last advice was to wipe and reload. So here are my questions -

I understand that the wipe takes me back to factory settings. But if I just restore my backup file, won't that just put back on the files that don't work now?

Second, if I wipe then restart the phone, will it grab this new OS that I hear Verizon finally pushed out? (I don't see the update now since the one I side loaded is newer, I think)

    Thanks folks.

Load a the new OS 2339 via auto loader, it will wipe your device and it's the best OS out there right now.

When I had other issue it happened as you said, restoring from backup just brought the problem back.

    I used Backup Pro.

So I wiped, updated OS then used my backup from Backup Pro.
