I have just set up an account with Telus for voice and texting while I am visiting. However we have wifi at the house and I expect to access my email messages when I am on wifi. However the message is "your device has a problem connecting to the server". I use the Torch when I am in UK no problem.

    Hiya and welcome to CrackBerry.

I did something similar in Costa Rica earlier this year with my Torch 9800, i.e. did not get a local SIM card, and just used email when connected to hotel wi-fi. I did find Facebook problematic; sometimes it would work, other times "cannot contact server."

Won't have that problem anymore now that I've upgraded to a Z10.

    So, first the simple stuff:

    • Did you successfully connect to the house wi-fi?
    • If yes, can you get to the internet with the browser?
