After wiping all data on my blackberry, I still see my old media files on the phone. I can't delete these files, I can't download new ones, I can't even use the camera, because it won't save the resulting filE.

You could try wiping it with BBSAK and reloading the OS.

Wiping the phone probably does not have anything to do with the media card. Go into the storage settings select the SD card and hit format card. That will for sure wipe it clean and format it to the device. If that doesn't work switch SD cards and try the same process again with a different card. If the new data card works you know that it's a bad card. If it still doesn't work you know that maybe/possibly the phone is not operating properly.

My Passport will take a back burner to my Classic! And my Galaxy Note 4 is now a paperweight!
