Sometimes this works. Try leaving the battery out overnight. With my wife's hers fired up after putting it back in the morning. I know for a fact it worked on a 9900 and Q10 maybe a Z10. I think the device retains memory and the long battery pull drains it.

About a month ago, my Q5 died in a similar way.

I was trying to create a contact, and the phone shut itself off. Then it would not boot, or it would try to boot but no complete. I did get it booted once, but that didn't last long. Plugging in to the PC did nothing.

You may have a different issue, just giving you my experience.

I sent it away to Blackberry for repairs. In the end, I got a new Q5.
