[CrackBerry Question]

When I send a text and add an emoticon it shows up on my screen, but not on the person's non-BlackBerry phone. All they see are punctuation or number symbols. why is this?

Are you sending SMS or MMS. MMS will handle the emoticons better, SMS by it's very name handles on TEXT, not graphics. Incidentally, does it show like that to all your recipients? If yes, then you can try and resolve yourself, if it shows how you expect to some and not others, then the issue would not be the BlackBerry or your service.
