When I receive an email and address it I usually delete it but occasionally by z30 will download all the emails that I had received and deleted for the last 30 days.

This can depend a bit on what mail service you are using. However, if you do not set the BB to delete from the HUB AND the SERVER, then the messages remain on the server and may not be flagged as having been "read." Consequently, they may reload. (Godaddy email service does this...)
You can also set the "SYNC TImeframe" under the Account settings to a period of only a day and that, at least, will limit the full 30 day reload.
