So you tried to turn your phone on and the battery has an X on it?
The Battery & Red X icon means the battery is too low to start the device.
If it was on charge for a few hours and still shows the icon, it could be several things:
- Charger is bad
- Charge port on the device is bad
- Battery is bad
If the device has a removable battery, pull it out and inspect it for damage. Look for discolored or corroded contacts, swelling or blistering packaging, or broken/leaking cells. If any, replace the battery.
If the packaging or cells are damaged, HANDLE WITH CARE! Lithium batteries can spontaneously ignite if moisture or water comes in contact with the Lithium material inside of the cell.
If all looks well on the battery, hook the charger to the device and attempt to power it on without the battery installed.
If the device acts like it wants to power up, then the charger may be OK, look for a replacement battery.
If the device does nothing, the charger or port may be bad, seek out a cell phone repair service or a new charger. Do the same if a non-removable battery.
