i can hear audio with speaker but when i connect my headphone it is not working?

i can hear audio with speaker but when i connect my headphone it is not working?

What phone is it? Tried another pair of headphones?

I can hear audio through phone speakers, but when i connect my head phone i can't hear any audio. it still plays on speaker mode though i select headphone.
Also i have a icon apperaing headset next to battery icon on home screen.

phone model: Blackberry Z10, headphone shipped along with phone.

please help me in removing this icon from homescreen.

tried with other pair of headphones.
I have a headset icon (phone with six dots at bottom) displaying on the homescreen next to battery icon.
