If you are an existing customer, just put your SIM card in, that should do it.

Thanks. Is there any benefit buying a unlocked phone?

You're not locked to your carrier, so if you don't like something they're doing, you can take your phone to another carrier and go with them.

Also, some carriers may offer lower monthly service rates if you are not purchasing phones on a subsidy. While this does not mean you have to purchase unlocked phones to fulfill this requirement, unsubsidized phones you buy from carriers may be SIM locked to them.

You can put any activated sim in it as long as the phone has the proper radio bands for that network. So there's that.
