I get my WhatsApp acting out once in a while. All the names will dissappear & I can only see numbers.



If my contacts don't put a picture in their WhatsApp I wouldn't know who they are. After a while the names will come back again.

Now, it's not recommended to put your picture profile in your WhatsApp because people can just find out who you are & what's your name by just adding your phone number to their phones. If I just see numbers how am I going to be able to contact someone I want to contact?

So what's the point?

What do you see on the "Contacts" tab of the app when this happens?
Do your contacts come from any remote sources?
What do you see in the actual system Contacts app when this happens?

We can only display what info the system tells us, and sometimes it messes up.

This happens for me when I restart my phone. However, minutes later once everything is all loaded up, back to normal.

Not a problem for me, I think it makes sense

I'm on 10.2.1.3062 and yes, my contacts are sync with Gmail & yahoo mail at the same time.

It comes back after a few hours. It's really frustrating.

My girlfriend sometimes has this problem on her Android phone whenever she restarts it. Sometimes the names appear near instantly, sometimes they don't ever appear before another restart.
Have you checked all your permissions?
