I managed to get the backup of the Whatsapp chat history from my Blackberry Q10 in the form of messagestore.db.crypt from the SD Card.

I copied this file from the SD card to my NEW ANDROID Phones's memory. When I installed whatsapp it detected the backup but gave an error saying that it cannot restore and when i tried a second time it did not detect the file itself.

Could anyone tell me how i can get the chats using the Backup file and which folder i need to paste it into or if i need to rename it?

Maybe the encrypted file can only be decrypted by the same device it came from? That's how it works I think. Maybe you need to decrypt the file on the original device first before extracting the folder to your other device.

BlackBerry WhatsApp still works. Uninstall and reinstall.

You need to use the "Export" feature buried in the settings menus (under Media Settings, I think) to convert your message DB to a format the Android client can decrypt and understand.
