Hi everyone, I've been having a problem adding whatsapp contacts to my blackberry contacts list. For instance, I receive a message from a friend, whose contact I already have on my blackberry contacts list, but in which the whatsapp number does not match the number I have on the contacts list. I click add, to add this whatsapp contact to an already existing contact, it is added in the blackberry contacts list, however in the hub I still see the contact number as the sender, and not the name of the person. This does not happen with everybody though, some numbers I was able to add without any problem and are now showing in the hub as the name of the person. Does anybody know how to fix this? Thanks!

If you're running OS 10.3.1, and adding the number to a contact from an account WhatsApp has no access to (e.g. Facebook, or any other social account), then we will not be able to read the added number either. This is a deliberate change BlackBerry made in the OS in 10.3.1. The best solution is to simply create a new contact. (Prior OS versions didn't have this problem.)

In OS 10.3.2, as of our current beta, we finally have access to Facebook contacts. So hopefully this problem will be less of an issue in the future.

Similar issue here: anyone contacting me on WhatsApp will show as a phone number, not the persons' name, even if she/he is in my contact list. Merging this "new" contact to my contact list, making an entirely new contact: nothing helps. Suggestions, anyone?

Optimism! As much as I admire that, the update didn't seem to have an effect on this BlackBerry flaw.

Yeah, it is frustrating since its whatsapp that I use the most and all the contacts are linked from Facebook in my phone

If you update to 10.3.2, and run the latest Beta Zone version, then your Facebook contacts should become visible inside WhatsApp.

Thank you. Unfortunately this does not seem to solve the issue as I described above, however.

Well, a lot of issues, especially since the last update. Posting these didn't lead to any response at all, so that's it. Bought a BlackBerry two years ago in an attempt to support RIM, but I don't need crappy software. So, yet another unhappy customer turning back to Droid...

Are you using the device in a BES ("Work") configuration, or have you denied "Contacts" permission to WhatsApp?
