Since the new whatsapp did it's usual update around 4 months ago, since then I cannot send videos or pictures and now my contact list is apparently empty even though all contacts are saved and have never had an issue before the update?...
Iv reinstalled and installed over several attempts rebooting my phone at the same time with no change whatsoever.):
Any help on this would be much appreciated!

I believe there has been at least one more recent update. Are you on version 2.16.66?

Iv just checked on playstore and it says I have version 2.16.275

It sounds like you are using the Android version and not the BlackBerry 10 version.
The Android version has problems with media files on BB10, but I believe there is a patch that helps with some issues.

Sideload requires use of Sachesi or an alternate install utility e.g. Google Chrome PlayBook extension.
Unlike an android apk which for the most part you can load directly onto your device the bar files require the use of the utility.
This "patch" runs in the background and should correct the issue if you are using a version of the android WA.
