Even if, I don't think the specs of the BlackBerry 10 devices will seem to be able to handle Android that smoothly.

As far as I can tell, Android is the slowest OS (in terms of choppiness) considering that I've seen how the frame rate on most high-end devices seem to not be all that smooth. Even our devices can hardly handle the runtime. That's probably why the Priv's specs are so high.

One never knows. BBerry seems healthy on the non-hardware side, so will continue. As far as the ultimate fate of the 10 OS, almost anything is possible. For instance, though Samsung's primary OS is Android, they are making some inroads with their own OS, "Tizen". They're using it on their Smart Watches (the new Gear S2, etc.) and on lower-end phones, like their Z1, which has sold over a million units since January in India alone. The market for lower priced phones is growing. For instance, the BBerry Z3 is that type of phone. So it is always possible we may see a version of the BB10 phone sticking around or slowly re-emerging.

BlackBerry will continue to make handsets for BB10 OS. It will continue to develop the OS. However, this line of products will focus on the enterprise part of the market. Governments, organisations and institutes need very secure devices, which BlackBerry is. The general public are more obsessed with apps and fun, access to social media and integration between different apps, and camera...etc. I think android by BlackBerry will be secure but it is not going to be as the BBOS.
For me, it doesn't matter either, but I certainly want to see few things in BBroid before I opt for it: front light notification, swipe from button to wake, certainly the hub, calendar and few other things.
