Can't say if there would be a problem with skype.
It doesn't matter which VPN provider you choose, as long as it's reliable and support Microsoft IKEv2 protocol. It is because Z10 could not work with most common protocols like PPTP, l2TP and OpenVPN. After finding a provider, it's very easy to set it up on Z10.
