I was on Chrome on FB this AM an suddenly a screen came up saying I had 3 viruses. It directed me to an app. I closed everything and restarted the phone.
When I reopened Chrome I got the warning again. It said if I don't install the app my phone will be locked in one day!!
It came from wwe.lmorpon.info or something like that.
Is this a virus or malware? How do I get rid of it? Never had this on any phone before.
Do I now need an anti-virus?

It sounds like a scam to me. On top of that, they spelt 'Imoron' incorrectly.

Install, clean and then uninstall if you want.

Just close out of all your tabs and clear history/settings. You could always go to the app in the settings menu and clear it's cache.

Settings > Apps > Chrome > Storage > Clear Cache

You may need to reconfigure your account and settings.

try to clear the cache if possible, when not delete Chrome and then re-download.

You're likely looking at ransomware site.

I know there was a case on other android phones that required you to delete a chrome folder manually, but before you go down that road, try the easy solutions.

assuming you didnt download and install anything, if you did that's a different story.
once you clear the cache and data, block pop ups

1. Open Chrome Browser app
2. Go to menu
3. Open Setting
4. Open Site Setting
5. Switch pop-ups setting to BLOCKED

I did for awhile... as FireFox use to be my go to desktop browser. But I didn't like it as much as Chrome - desktop or mobile.

Personally I hate chrome on mobile, but really like Firefox.

On desktop I use both, but chrome more.
