I am looking to get a new phone with Verizon. They are trying to convince me to do the Edge program and that the phone will actually cost me less if I go with a 10gb plan since I will get a $25 credit per month with this program. However, what are the cons of not having a contract? Can Verizon change my service or rates at any time???

Having to buy your phones at full price, and the theoretical threat of carriers raising rates (and not grandfathering existing customers) I would say are the biggest drawbacks of these no contract plans.
