Updating my 9320 and it is asking for a password

It has installed the update and nearly finished rebooting but says "The Desktop loader is unable to connect to the Device above." "You may need to enter the password on the device" but I am unable to access my BB to enter password any suggestions

did not disable password so i assume that was the problem thanks managed after the 5th attempt but after re installing back up I had to download Vodaphone App and when I rebooted the device for this I am back to square one i have also tried the other suggestions but the same is happening - my password is not disabled!

So, when you're in, and before you reinstalled the vodafone app, you didn't disable your password?

unable to get safe mode as it has delete all but removing battery helped see below many thanks
