I just got 10.3.2.2168 on my Q5 (like many people, I could not just update, I had to do a factory restore then load it) and it is working perfectly. Unfortunately, I forgot to turn off automatic updates, and it just installed 10.3.2.2474, pending the restart of my phone.

I'm really hoping there's some way to prevent the update/install, as I finally have my phone working properly and everything in order, and have read that some people are having issues with the new OS.

I'm guessing there's no way to stop it now, since it's already on my phone, but would appreciate any suggestions.

    Thanks!

Just reload the backup you made with Link right after you did the 10.3.2.2168 update.

What the F*CK does that have to do with preventing updates?

OP, under settings you can disable auto-update
However, sometimes updates are set as mandatory, and will override the auto-update, such as the recent 10.3.2 update
There's nothing wrong with that OS though. There are always clueless folks thinking that a certain OS or radio is better, but unless it's documented by someone credible (like Thurask, Sacha, Darcy, etc) I wouldn't bother listening. Psychologically, it's called the placebo affect

Given the fact that he's already done the update it would get him back to where he started, which is where he was trying to get to, assuming he had a backup.

I don't understand what you mean by mandatory updates. Like all the other updates I've done I found the decision to install the 10.3.2 updates pushed by my carrier to be completely optional. I could have just stayed with 10.3.1 as some have done.

Some carriers like Verizon pushed 10.3.2 as a mandatory update. You can't NOT update
And no, loading the backup doesn't get you back to the previous OS. If he did no setting changes before and after the update, doing the restore does absolutely nothing. Assuming the newer OS does indeed have a bug (which it doesn't afaik), restoring the backup doesn't fix it

Getting back to your original issue, I have done both the 2168 and the 2474 updates on my Q5. The second one was just a minor update. I've had no problems with either update, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks guys, I did do a backup from about a week ago (right after I first upgraded to 10.3) but I believe Masterscar is right in that it's really just for ur data/apps/personal settings. I did turn off automatic updates right after the new OS was updated. Gonna do another backup then restart my phone...hopefully all goes well!

So I guess there is no way to downgrade back, short of finding the previous OS and loading it on a factory restore?

Yes, but once you've gone to 10.3.2 you can't go back to 10.3.1 due to the new security features in 10.3.2. Enjoy the 10.3.2.2474 update, there won't be many more now that the Priv is about to be released.

The 2474 update has a big fix in it for many QWERTY owners in eliminating double typing. It's been a great OS and performance has been superb.
