Long story short, my home wireless router died. I got a new one. I have my old Bold 9900, and I would hook it to the network so I could surf in my bed without using my regular Z10 (like if I left it downstairs on the charger).

Anyway, I had the phone locked. I tried unlocking it and it went through ten attempts and it "wiped" the device. It turns out I didn't have the SIM card in there and I don't know if that's why it wouldn't let me unlock it because I use the same alphanumeric unlock code for every phone I've had. I've never gone through more than two attempts and I would have stopped before I got to 10 but I thought it wouldn't let me attempt to unlock it again for a few minutes like the iPhone does.

Is there anyway to undo the "wipe?" Sorry for the run-on sentences. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry no. All data has been wiped securely.

Only way to restore data is from a backup file. Wipe is meant to be a secure operation.

Damn. Thanks. I had taken some pictures of my dog on that phone and I never transferred them anywhere. I have to get a SIM adapter moving forward so I can transfer things to my Z10.

    Have a Happy New Year!

Hi, do accidental dropbox.com, box.com, copy.com or any similar file backup? Maybe you've got it in 9900 and even forget about it???? Otherwise, no luck without backup (files backup).

Don't use a SIM adapter. I've seen too many devices with broken connectors. They are easy to insert but might catch the fragile connector pins when you try to remove the SIM stain.

Don't need a sim to transfer through WiFi any ways. Did you happen to have an SD card in your BlackBerry?
