Coming from webOS which is able to swipe away notifications without opening them. For example spam emails. At the moment I have to open The Hub, press and hold the spam email and delete it. In webOS I could swipe away unimportant notifications. It didn't delete them, but just removed them as notifications.

No, you need to delete the email to get rid of the notification. As far as I know. but then again I delete the Hub icon first thing.
