You can sync your phone contacts to either Outlook or Windows Contacts on your PC with Link. Connect your phone via USB and choose Contacts/Calendar. Then choose Contacts Configure.

Right, I did see that. What I was wondering is there any sort of blackberry based contact system that can either be stored on PC or a cloud. Or does it all depend on another service (gmail, windows etc.).

This app will allow you to export your contacts to a CSV or vcf file.

    your link didn't work, http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/72643
I like how it says you don't need an account then it asks you to register and give it your number. It's quite expensive for what it does, which one could do themselves for free with a simple Web browser.

I now see I need to truncate my urls in future to delete the Country Code, etc.I don't mind paying for a good app, but I don't like having to setup an account and upload all my information to some remote site.

    ContactsImEx

Check out ContactsImEx in BlackBerry World! You can find it at http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/37102894

Once you back up contacts in an Excel file, you can move it to your cloud account.

FireChestBackUp (now BackUpPro) saves contacts to a file on device, SD card or to a cloud you specify (Box, Dropbox, OneDrive)... not free
