I don't think there's much difference between the models, personally I use 100-1

All of the telcoms use 900 and 1800 Mhz

    3G frequencies in India:
    Airtel: 1900/2100
Aircel, BSNL, MTNL, Reliance, Docomo, Vodafone: 2100 Mhz

    4G frequencies in India:
Bharti Airtel, Aircel and MTNL: 2300Mhz
    Video con: 1800Mhz

    So based on this thread:

    http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...encies-775253/

    I am thinking STL 1 and 2 for 3G
3 if your carrier has 4G.

I feel so cool with this but I maybe entirely wrong D:
I'll wait for someone to correct this :P
I can imagine if this may not seem helpful, sorry

Question: If India's 4G is mostly 2300 Mhz, how can anyone use any of the Z10 4G models?!

    STL100-1 isn't...well liked. If you can, get a STL100-2 or STL100-3.

If you travel to Europe, Australia or the Middle East, get the STL100-2. If you travel to North America, get the STL100-3.

Yeah, no 4G/LTE in India on BB10 phones. But honestly, it's not even close to being massively deployed yet. Hell, even 3G doesn't have that great penetration nationwide.

That's new :| I got that from reading other threads on 3G in India but didn't know it was this bad. Maybe it's different in Pakistan because all the telcom companies have international parent companies... hmm... must find out.

Problem is that carriers there only support 100-1 so if you get another device, you will never get an OTA update

Isn't that solved with removing the sim and updating over WiFi?

Just avoid 100-1 in India, its battery backup is not good.

Do not buy STL100-1. It has many problems. I faced so many problems with. Buy STL100-2 or 3 and STL100-4 is for CDMA and it won't be available in india.
Are you buying online or in the store?
