Well... When buying stuff that is not listed as compatible, one really should take the time to test prior to closing the deal.

Also you can set the timer on your Z10 camera, so it takes the photo on the selfie stick, by timer instead of shutter release.

This method also works with things like the credit card smartphone "pocket tripod".

    Have fun :-)

Okay, monopods that attach via the headphone jack and have a button to take shots will not work for BlackBerry devices.

The reason why is because for iPhones and most Android that connect to that have their volume rockers relayed via the button you can press on the monopod. Their volume rockers can also be pressed to take pictures.

As for BlackBerry 10 devices, I believe the button is relayed from the middle media button which cannot be used to take pictures. (Only the up and down volume rockers can)
Last time I checked, when I used one of them, I held the button down and it activated BlackBerry Assistant. Not 100% sure if all monopods would do this.

Is there any solutions to date that you are aware of for this issue? I recently received a monopod stick and it will not work with my Q10.

For Bluetooth selfie sticks I use "Remote selfie" app, I don't know if it works with the others selfie sticks.

This isn't a solution for the problem, but it's a way to use some selfie stick.

    Saludos!

Thanks for the tip. A coworker just gave me a new selfie stick. It would connect to my Z10 but would not activate the shutter. I downloaded this app and it worked as long as I gave it permission to my Shared Folders and Camera. The only negative thing is it saves the pics to Device memory and can't be changed. I can live with that though since I can move them to the memory card afterwards.
