Hello guys I just purchased a blackberry passport silver edition everything is great but when the device goes to sleep it slowly dims then before the screen goes cometh dark it flickers is this normal or is this a issue where I should exchange

Many PP users experienced the screen flicker issue, myself included. In my situation the flicker resolved with an OS update.

I do not believe this was a hardware issue but others may be able to provide additional information.
Some posts have indicated spontaneous correction or improvements over time, while others have described a need to reload OS.
If you aren't comfortable with the flicker than its probably best to return device for an exchange or refund.

Mine (Q10 and classic, previous devices that are legacy) never had a flickering screen.
