Can anyone help me with activation of reliance cdma on my blackberry 9930. Airtel works fab on this handset. GSM sim cards work flawless.

I think 9930 is pure GSM. If it is CDMA capable then it might be a band issue too... talk to reliance

The 9930 was the CDMA variant of the 9900. Is it possible that the CDMA chipset is locked to a specific carrier?

The 9930 is flashed to either Verizon or Sprint. You can't use it on other CDMA carriers.

You can, however, use it on GSM Indian carriers like Airtel. They all use the UMTS 2100 band and that's present in the 9930.
