I copied all my documents from the SD card in my Z30 to the one in my Dtek50.
I'm finding that the copied documents are "read only". Why did that happen, and how can I make them editable?
    Thanks.

Did you have any encryption or something like that?

Are they read only from your phone (i.e. a file manager app) or your PC?

I don't think they are encrypted. I will have to go back to the Z30 to see if I missed something.

You can try and open it on a desktop and see if you're able to enable edit-mode. If so, you probably have to save them again without the read only option.

So here I what I figured out so far :
I went back to a document on my PC and sent it as an email to myself.
Once it arrived on my phone, I said save. It went to a downloads folder on my device. In that folder it was editable.
Then I copied it to a folder on my SD card.
When I opened it there, it was read only!!
I am using the Asus file manager. I don't know if that is related. I'm stumped!!!

Do you have a different SD card to test with?

I have a brand new unopened one. The one that is in the Dtek50 was reformatted. I will check it out.
