Have checked everything I can think of for my mother's phone. Did online searches too. Notifications are on normal. The sound is full blast there and with side bars. BBM sound is fine. Rebooted the phone. Took out battery. We can see incoming call but no sound. Does not seem to go directly to voice mail. Checked clock for sleep mode. Not on airplane mode. Any ideas???? Help.

Put the notification on the phone storage, not the sd card , that worked for me before.
Her phone does not have an SD card...thanks for replying!

Have you tried a hard reset yet by holding the volume up and down buttons in until you see the blue loading circle.

You shouldn't do battery pulls in these new devices, do the above to reset.

Thanks, wish I had known that before about the battery. Seems the issue was under Settings, then quick settings. The notifications had a check mark which made it look activated but it was actually turning it off with check mark. In addition, even though it was notifications it only affected the ringing of the phone and not the other notifications. Strange....
