I'm currently on a Bold 9900 and have wanted a Q10 since the day it came out. I can finally afford a Q10 because prices have decreased but is it worth buying now or should I wait for the Classic? I've wanted a BlackBerry 10 device for a long time. So does the Q10 still have some value or is the Classic worth the wait and heftier price tag?

If the "tool belt" you have on the 9900 is important to you, then I would wait for the classic. If not, the Q10 is a great device.

Depends on your cash at hand. Q10 will most likely be $400 cheaper unless you are due for an upgrade if available in your country

Depends if you want a BB10 version of the 9900 (aka. The Classic). Or if you want a device for which the gesture based BB10 was more intended. The Q10.

If I do get another BlackBerry, it will most likely be a Classic. And it won't be right away. I'll wait for the price to drop.

For now, my Bold 9930 is doing great!

Just don't forget that the classic will be priced high when released and you might be in the position where you need to take some more time in order to collect enough cash in order to afford it, whereas the Q10 price will most probably remain at the same level over the course of the following months! Therefore, why do you want to wait for another couple of months when you can get a Q10 now?

Estimated release date is sometime in November. However what's not clear is if that Nov timeframe also includes those of us here in the U.S.

I've had my Q10 for more than a year now and I don't think I need the toolbelt anymore. Maybe it's just a matter of time when people can adjust and learn how to use the text selector of BB10 OS. I've never heard iphone, android and Z10/Z30 user wanting the trackpad. Only Q users because most of them maybe are from BlackBerry legacy devices and expects to have the same tools from the old device. Also, give it a year more and the BB10 OS text selector for sure will be made perfectly.

I suggest waiting until the Classic is released, then comparing the two devices in your hands, factoring the cost you want to pay, and then making your decision.

I have a Q10 that I love, and I won't be getting another phone any time soon. However, for people buying now, I'd recommend waiting at least until the Classic is released.

I'd have to disagree. The Classic will be fully functional with just gestures if you choose not to use the ToolBelt. If anything you are getting a Q10 that is simply slightly easier to end and answer calls and edit text.

You'll still peak and flow through the hub without needing the ToolBelt, but will have the option of using it if more comfortable. Don't get me wrong. Have a Q10 for work and love it! But the classic would have been an easier transition and then would have got use to the gestures and left the ToolBelt alone. Guess I'm on both sides of the fence. The Classic is the safe bet, but Q10 is a great device.

From my Z30...is it the best? Jury still out...
