Just log in to the same Google Account you used to purchase apps from the Google Play Store. As if you transferred from one Android device to another.

But I have never used an android device. Only BlackBerry. So I'm guessing that means we all lose the money we spent on BlackBerry apps?!? That sucks b#**$

Unfortunately, yes. Completely different ecosystem. In some special situations though, empathetic devs have been known to give the app away free for customers who have previously bought it on another platform.

That's one of the reasons I won't switch (yet) and just the fact that I'm not ready to leave BlackBerry10.

Yep.
Way back when I moved from Palm to BB, several devs gave me transfers.
Unfortunately.
I've always felt that there should be 1 App store, and each App can have a separate download buttons depending on what OS you are running.
This means if you switch from BlackBerry 10 to IOS or from Android to BlackBerry 10 you can still log into the same App store and just re-download all your Apps that you have paid for.
Pipe dream I know. As some other people have said, you can try sending the Devs a message and ask for a free copy of the Apps you have purchased.

Well basically, yeah. But if you happened to have purchased apps from the Google Play Store or Snap, then it's right there at your service.

Well ****!! Thanks lady (s) and gentlemen for your answers. Guess I better get myself a Google play store card.

I've paid for many apps that I use frequently, BlackBerry and Android apps (Android user for the past years before returning to BB). Considering how little most cost and that the small change goes to supporting the developers I'm more than willing to pay again for the same apps if I switch again (which I would consider if there is a Android version of the Classic).
This "issue" can be found with everything. Your car, your pc, ..as soon as you change you will loose something.
But if developers is on Android as well you can try to write an email to ask if possible to get the android version with no charge.

What am I missing? Is it merely the principle of the thing? Maybe it is just my skewed thinking, but one would think that if a person is willing to shell out $900 CDN ($700 US) for an Android phone, repurchasing $20 or $30 worth of apps would not be such a terrible hardship. Moving between operating systems almost always requires new software/apps.
Lol. That's why trying to save $. But I totally understand your thoughts. And I must say the PRIV isn't anymore expensive than the new galaxy or iPhone. So I truly don't understand everyone saying "it's so expensive " remember the PRIV has expandable memory unlike galaxy or iPhone. I'd say it's a great deal personally. But hey that's just my opinion.
