I use Printhand for wi-fi printing but at home I don't have wi-fi so bought a Brother MFC-J870DW which is NFC capable. Downloaded the brother iprint and scan app but don't seem to be able to add NFC printer. Anyone using this method?

I use printhand but my printer is wifi so no problems here ................................sorry

I use the HP e print app for android. That works for my HP printer which is wifi

I'd recommend getting a wifi router. Even an old one.

I'm guessing your printer is connected by USB? On your computer under Devices and Printers, right click on your printer and choose the option to share it.

In PrintHand, use the IP of your computer as the printer IP and try connecting to it that way. You will still need a wireless router to get your phone on the same network as your computer.


One of the biggest points of confusion with most printing apps is that the printer needs to have a wifi connection itself. All it needs is an IP in the same scope as a wifi connection that your phone is connected to.
