    Settings/About says 10.2.1.2991 while BBVE says 10.2.1.3289.
    What gives?

    The first is the software version, the second is the OS version. We normally quote the OS version around here for consistency.

    When you go to settings / about, select OS in the drop down list.

    Maybe it shows you the software release. The lower number is your software release and the larger number is the Os Version
