Hi, since updating to 10.3 I use the inbuilt software to track my mobile data usage and noticed connect to Onedrive using large chunks of data randomly. The data is download data and I cannot understand what it is. I have it set to upload my photographs when connected to wifi only, but cannot see how this has anything to do with it. I have attached a screen shot . It's so frustrating as I have to keep my data turned off in case Onedrive decides to do something to use up some data.

Do you synchronize (your photos) to the cloud??

Eye, I do synchronise to the cloud but I have the "use mobile network" button not clicked so that it will only synchronise when on wifi. That's what I can't understand.

if you have to sync pictures on I believe as soon as you take a picture with the camera it will sync anyways.

I suggest to turn every thing off and then on again... or delete App and reinstall again...
Does it upload or download most? May be you deleted sth and the app reacted to that!?

It downloads the most which is strange. If it did upload immediately after a photograph was taken the upload chart would be highest. I might reinstall again and have a fiddle around.

Nope, not yet. Just disabled it for now and hoping for the best. Could be costly as only have 1gb of data.

Exact same thing for me, settings photos only, wifi only, mobile data usage high. Also with Dropbox. Turning off the sync for now. Will try reinstall later.

I have found with Dropbox that updating a 50KB file will result in around 10MB (yes, Megabytes) of traffic. It's consistent that way. No traffic for hours and then change one tiny file and watch the counter go crazy.

Needless to say, I don't use Dropbox anymore.

I uninstalled the connect to Onedrive app and the reinstalled it. Seemed to do the trick for me. However I don't use it to back up my stuff now. Instead I use an app called ultimate back up. Think it was free a while ago on offer. Backs up everything to Onedrive not just photos and videos restricted to the camera folder.

As the old saying goes, you haven't done a backup until you've done the restore. UB has issues so be very careful and check your backups closely. Be very alert and don't just take their word that the backup was successful. Make sure.

Cheers for that, seemed to do the first back up ok (which was the biggest) told me that a few things failed ie huge files but so far so good.

I even received a 90mb file as a firmware update after the 10.3 update. Assumed it had solutions to the dropbox and cloud issues the new api is posing for cloud users. But no such luck.

Gt125, you were right. Checked my Onedrive and only half of the stuff had been backed up. Not impressed at all. Thanks for mentioning it.

They do have problems. Watch out for "Remember" if you have any attachments. They will be backed up but on a restore they go to a different folder under a different file name and the notes are changed to link to the new files.

You have to use the vendor's password as well if you are encrypting. About 90% of the passwords I tested caused corruption of the backup. For example, "aaaabbbb" might work fine but "aaaabbbc" would corrupt the backup. I spent a week and a dozen Emails with them diagnosing the problem and their "fix" was to supply a password that worked.
