I want to purchase a new BlackBerry phone. Should I purchase BB10 or BB7. I like BB7, but the support will not be there from Dec, 2015. Will it really be a threat after that (given the fact that it is called the most secure OS)? Is BB10 as secure as BB7? You can download Android games on BB10, is that secure?

If BIS disappears soon, you'll be out of business with your BB7 phone. Support isn't really there anymore either.

As with any modern smartphone, you can mitigate security issues on BB10 by smart usage and avoiding apps that data-mine.

BB10 has not been routed yet, and no known viruses have ever infected a BlackBerry.

My advice.......quickly dash to the nearest Store and purchase BB10!! BIS will soon be fazed out!! I don't know what BlackBerry and carriers will do with BB7 users. Better to be on the safe site.
In terms of security android apps are often verified and satisfied by BlackBerry security before installation although some people may be so impatient not to wait for such verification to complete and so may cut short the verification and install the apps quickly. So far am not aware of any security issues arising from BB10!
