Hi all, my priv is frustrating me. It shuts down at 20% battery, and I can't restart it unless it's plugged in. How do I fix this? It's not like I can pull the battery. Can someone please help me?

I think this is usually the battery going bad. I've only experienced this with devices that are like 2+ years old or running extremely hot. Has your Priv been running really hot?
OP read through the following thread...several suggestions which may be of help

Ensure your OS is up to date and disable any unnecessary applications to start.
There are several threads related to similar issues and many have offered some concrete solutions so have a good look through them. Good luck!
Yes it runs very hot. I've been disabling apps all morning and it's died after 2 hours since 100% battery. I might have to send it in

So, I deleted my Facebook, downloaded a phone manager like someone had suggested to cool the phone and delete apps that start on their own. It still shuts down at 20%. This last time it got to 20, shut down, then when I plugged it in it was at 0% battery. No clue what's going on. I don't know how to figure out what apps need to run and which ones I can disable. What the heck is smart card service and why is it running?. I may have to bring it in.

You may need to familiarize yourself with the Android OS but if you're still having issues call BlackBerry support.
PRIV comes with 12 months of free, complimentary support.
Call 1-866-533-8067 (Canada\USA), or 0800-141-3330 (UK)!
...or I would suggest save yourself the headache and take it back to your retailer as faulty. Good luck!
You better ask for a replacement. Or try calibrating your battery.

Yeah if it's displaying 20% but really it's empty, the batter has probably started to go bad. :\
Thanks all. I'll be bringing it in
