First thing i would do is run the BBVE App ( Blackberry Virtual Expert) if you have it on your device. There is a tab at the bottom "tests". Run the audio test and see what the results are. If your device fails, then yes you may want to take it to a repair shop and get it fixed or have it sent under warranty if it is.

My speakers recently also did the same thing. It was fixed by a software update
