Do you have a BIS data plan through your cell carrier or a BES data service from your employer?
Legacy BlackBerry devices, like your Curve, require a BIS or BES data service in order to function fully online, even if you are just using WiFi.
If you do have a BIS plan through your cell provider, or are on your employers BES service, you will need to contact those providers to trouble shoot the connection.
If you have neither, there are ways to mostly get a Legacy BlackBerry device "online" without them, see:
Guide: BlackBerry OS 7 (maybe 6) WITHOUT BIS
