    i cant access it on my computer as Blackberry Link cant communicate with it...any thoughts as to how I can solve this? right now I cant do anything on the device as it says 'storage must be freed...'

    Assuming you have an SD card installed make sure you have set all apps ( camera etc) to save all data there by default. Certainly move all data saved on the phone to the SD card. After that, your only choice is, as Jaydee said, to remove some apps.

    With an none encrypted SD Card you could move the data to the card and then transfer it from the card to your PC.

    As for LINK....
    - delete all BlackBerry software, reboot, reinstall LINK and Drivers
    - try different cables and ports
    - disable all security software on your PC.
