    To Blackberry savvy,

    I have a Sprint Blackberry Q10.
I am living in Japan, and I got the phone from a guy in US thru Ebay.
Currently, browsing internet via Wifi and everything else seems working
fine, but never tried a local SIM.

When I go to Setup in Home screen > Self service > settings, the phone
prompts to enter the device MSL code, which I did not get from the former owner.
Of course, I called Sprint, but they don't support any phone without contract.

    My questions are:
    1. What is a MSL code for?
    2. Without it, is there something you cannot do?
    3. A MSL code and unlock code are different things?
    4. A MSL code is unique and permanent for each individual device, is that correct?
    5. Once a MSL code is entered, is it permanently fixed?

    Appreciate your answers in advance.

    Hi pkcable,

Thank you for sharing info, but unfortunately the application called Getspc is not available anywhere.

I also tried other methods shared and described in the related link, and they did not work out.
I entered the command (47*869#1235), but the phone just tried to call and failed instead of moving to the "Test mode".

This may be helpful if you can download the apk to your device, although your best option is to try and persuade Sprint to release the info or have the original owner attempt to do so.
I haven't verified if it works however so good luck!
