    I realized the z30 doesn't support. Mkv files an issue I never had with my Z10 from the outset.

    Mkv is supported, however if the audio is ac3 it will have issues.

    Should support it (Supported audio and video file extensions, formats, and codecs - User Guide - BlackBerry Z30 Smartphone - 10.2) ,

    Yeah, it should support both audio and video formats but the video player gives the error Unsupported media format. Avi extensions work flawlessly. Probably with an OS update this will be resolved .
