Is there any chance that somehow a ".nomedia" file has been put into those folders?

If you want to have a folder where you can keep pictures, videos or other media that won't show up in the BB10 media apps, like "Pictures", "Videos" or "Music", you put a ".nomedia" file into that folder. If such a file was in those folders and you didn't know it, that is exactly how it would behave; namely, that the files can be found and played/viewed in the File Manager but not in the media apps.

As it turns out, the only way to find the nomedia file is to connect your phone to a computer and use the windows explorer to look for it... cuz the nomedia file doesn't show up in the File Manager.
