I purchased my BlackBerry Passport on Amazon. I have an O2 Ireland sim and live on the border between the North and South. I don't want to roam on O2 UK but I have no option to manually select my preferred network.

Yeah, you should be able to change network selection mode to manual. Check Settings>Networks and Connections>Mobile Network and scroll down to Network Selection Mode. If it doesn't let you change from Automatic to Manual, it could be your carrier limiting this choice.

Manual selection is definitely available. Unless your carrier doesn't allow it and I can't image why they'd do that.

Not available on my passport unfortunately. I have a funny feeling that Amazon sent me the wrong phone. I bought a sim free phone but I get the O2 bubbles screen on start-up. I get the impression that O2 UK have switched off this feature. Time to contact Amazon!
