This is a Bold 9900. It happens all the time and started a few days ago. The letter appears typed as a small letter for a very brief moment then changes to a capital letter. Thanks.

When using the keyboard , pressing the key and releasing quickly produces small letters. If you press the key and maintain , will capitalize.

I'm surprised the keyboard doesn't lock because a hard press on the a key by default will lock the screen and keyboard on a 9900 with OS 7.x. That's a standard shortcut key.

Maybe a lighter tap on the a key?

Any recent high humidity or water damage?

Have you tried a short burst of compressed air on the keyboard? Maybe some grunge got lodged in there temporarily.
